Gerome Neil M. Soriano (b. 1990) is a Manila-based multi-disciplinary artist and cultural worker whose practice spans artist, writer, event organizer, project coordinator, curator, art handler, and community organizer. A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts and Design, where he was Best Thesis Awardee for his photography exhibit and catalogue design, Soriano works across video, photography, publications, painting, sculpture, and artistic organization. His practice is grounded in a voracious commitment to learning and service—"Trying to find something better," as he titled a major 2023 solo exhibition, "releases us from the pressure of achieving, highlighting that the act of seeking is meaningful in itself". He has participated in group exhibitions at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, West Gallery, Vinyl on Vinyl, Art Fair Philippines, Mono8 Gallery, and internationally in Germany, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Vancouver, and Mexico. As a project collaborator, he has worked with 98-b Collaboratory, Dito: Bahay ng Sining, Load na Dito Projects, Sa Sa Art Projects in Phnom Penh, and the Museum Collective in Manila on exhibitions exploring collective historiography and traumatic histories in Southeast Asia. He co-initiated the Braille for the Seeing exhibition at the CCP in 2023, originally conceived in 2019 as a response to digital art trends. His community-oriented work extends to participatory projects like Project Alima, an art intervention program in Cebu, and Para! Paraan, an art fund drive for UP Jeepney drivers.
