Kaleidoscope photography

This ongoing series is inspired by the song of the lateFilipino singer/songwriter Francis Magalona entitled Kaleidoscope World.

This series illustrates the stanzas of the song by lookingat our world through a kaleidoscopic lens.

Kaleidoscopic World:Quiapo, Manila

Quiapo was choosen to be one of the first places to includein this series. Because of it’s crowded streets and diverse mixture ofcultures.

In quiapo people from all walks of life mingle. From fortune-tellers tohigh priests, from sidewalk vendors to barangay policemen, from mosques tochurches, from foreigners to broadcasters, and many more they all walk thestreets of quiapo.

Just as the song goes:

“Everycolor and every hue
Isrepresented by me and you
Takea slide in the slope
Takea look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin'round, make it twirl
Inthis kaleidoscope world”
